Encore™ is the environmental solution for plastic bags. Encore™ carry-out bags offer restaurants the option of enjoying the benefits of plastic while reducing the environmental impact. Environmental issues are complex, especially in the restaurant market. There is not a one-size-fits-all solution for restaurants wanting to operate more “green”. In response to the varied needs of the restaurant market, Command Packaging has engineered the Encore™ product line with a goal of addressing the issues in which each individual restaurant is most concerned. According to Command Packaging president Pete Grande, “The media and politicians would like us to believe that there is one simple answer that will fix our problem, but that is not the case. If diverting plastic from the landfill is your main focus, we have a bag made from Post-Consumer Recycled Material (PCR). In some markets, like San Francisco, they are encouraging more composting which requires a bag that will degrade in a composting environment. Still others are concerned with litter and want bags that will degrade faster if they are not disposed of properly.” The Encore™ product line can address these issues and meet customers’ specific needs. Command Packaging’s Encore™ carry-out bags are available in five bag styles including, T-shirt, Super Wave™, and Ameritote™ shopping bags, designed to fit most carry-out containers. Command Packaging offers a full line of in-stock bags and customers benefit from the industry’s lowest minimum order quantity of 6,000 for custom printed bags. All bags are manufactured in the United States, using environmentally friendly colorants and water-based inks. When asked whether this latest need would impact carry-out bags, Grande responded, “Restaurants always face challenges from changing market demands. Selecting a functional, environmentally friendly, and affordable carry-out bag should not be one of them. We created a carry-out bag company focused on designing solutions for restaurants that need to fit odd sized containers into bags.
